before you braid it, wet your hair and put a curl enhancing mousse/gel. your hair can be slightly damp when you braid it, but not wet. it wont dry in the morning. just separate your your hair into a few different sections and french braid it. french braiding makes it look more natural instead of kinky. also, try not to leave too much hair hanging out of the braid on the bottom. it will leave marks. good luck!How to braid hair so it looks wavy/curlyish in the morning?
The best is to do two french braids on both sides of your head when wet, with gel or mousse and let dry overnight.
