Whoever your doing it on, would think you are more responsible if you bring your own products, since YOU are doing HER hair. And she is the one paying for it anyway. [IF she is.] (:I'm braiding someone's hair from home, who supply's hair products me or her?
I also braid hair and usually the person brings her own products...if you do have to use yours make sure you charge enough to cover how much it would cost to buy yourself more products. Don't be ashamed to charge a lil' more if you do end up using your own gel or something....that's if you are charging her.
I've had a licensed beautician come to my home (he also did hair on the side) and he always bought his own products, but he also charged more (not more than salon, just more than any other kitchen stylist). I agree, charge enough to cover your products and still make a profit.
