I'm black would braiding my hair make it grow faster?

barbie - your hair doesn't need to ';breathe'; to grow. by the time you actually see it, it's dead. all the growing happens inside your skin.

having said that, braiding WILL help it grow a little bit faster. pulling on the hair helps it grow, as does massaging your scalp - both things are incorporated when you get braids. don't pull too tight, you don't want to hurt yourself ... but gentle pulling of the hair and massaging of the scalp will, over time, make hair grow faster.I'm black would braiding my hair make it grow faster?
Well, I know what you mean. Personally, I'm trying the braided thing because my hair-lady says that it'll make it grow and it has, but not a lot. Try moisturizing it and wearing it natural or stick with braids. But my guess is that your hair isn't being combed or tampered with when it's in braids, so it has more time to grow naturally. You should also stay away from the chemicals and try natural shampoos and conditioners.I'm black would braiding my hair make it grow faster?
what does being black have anything to do w/ hair growth?????? i seriously doubt braiding your hair would make it grow any faster
Yeah, it would make it grow faster. Since you won't be adding heat to your hair, that would make it stronger and grow faster. Heat damages your hair.
Braiding only chokes the hair. If you do want your hair to grow, what i could suggest is you massage coconut oil on your head just before you sleep and make sure you wear a shower cap before you sleep. the next morning you canwash your hair. Do this atleast once a week. It should help
nope if anything it will make it grow slower, because your hair wont be able to breathe loosely.
i had braids my hair grew a lil bit...if i said alot i will be over exaggerating.....but its gives your hair a rest from relaxers for awhile
